Lake Jackson Largemouth Bass Fishing Report
Current Report
June 19, 2003
Water temperature: 82-84°F
The lake is light stained, with the rivers being red mud.
The fish are scattered all over the lake. Some can still be caught in the very backs of coves on weightless trickworms, flukes, or 1/4 oz white spinnerbaits. Then you have some fish starting the hold on deep water brushpiles and points. The "power line" area has been the hotspot lately. Fish the brush in this area with a small 1/4 oz leadhead jig and a finess worm. Work the bait along the tops of the brush and you can load the boat. Also work the bridge pilings with the same bait. Up the rivers work a spinnerbait with a white and chart blade combination for best results, some big fish are starting to show up there. Late at night fish are cruising the banks and eating big Zoom Ol Monster worms and 3/8 oz black jigs. Add some scent to the baits on dark nights for better results.
